Green Infrastructure – magic term, European challenge, integrated
strategy? One thing is for sure: Green Infrastructure is on everyone’s
lips!

Date: 12. – 14. October 2016

The German Federation of Landscape Architects (bdla) and the Regional
Association Ruhr take this opportunity and like to invite to a
conference in Essen, the `Emscherpark Region´, in order to discuss
our professional position on the new paradigm. Excellent speakers will
approach the topic from different spatial angels. Landscape Architects
and relevant stakeholder will exchange their views.

Leor Lovinger, representing IFLA Europe, will give a keynote speech on
`Green Infrastructure from an international perspective. Lessons from
the US & Israel for Europe? ´. The `EU Green Infrastructure
Strategy´ will be explained by Julie Raynal from the European
Commission, Environment Directorate-General, Biodiversity Unit,
Brussels.

The conference culminates in a presentation of a political agenda by
bdla – followed by a debate with top-ranking politician.
Participants are invited to join the preview `European Green Capital
Essen 2017´ on the evening before the conference. An excursion on the
following day will present contemporary Green Infrastructure of the
Ruhrgebiet.
