Sustainable development of urban areas is one of the major problems of modern civilization. The ecological aspect is the dominant factor in achieving sustainability. The importance of ecological aspect has developed a need for an International Conference “Ecology of Urban Areas” 2012 which has the goal to integrate scientific, technological and experimental knowledge in this field.
