TOURISM AND CULTURAL LANDSCAPES 4TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN BUDAPEST
The Tourism and Cultural Landscapes 4th International Conference will be organised in the framework of the UNESCO UNITWIN Network “Culture, Tourism, Development” and will be held in Budapest from the 11th to the 16th of June 2016.

The theme of the event will be “Tourism and Cultural Landscapes: Towards A Sustainable Approach”. The Conference is supported by the Hungarian National Commission for UNESCO, ICOMOS Hungary, IFITT. Note that the official language of the Conference will be English.

Main scientific topics:

World Heritage and the changing inter-relationship between tangible and intangible
Landscape and its social, economic, cultural and ecological approaches
Landscape types (designed, organically evolved and associative cultural landscapes)
and their sustainability and role in tourism
Planning and managing landscapes including Cultural Ecosystem Services
Individual and social well-being in relation to cultural tourism
Innovative technologies applied in travelling
The role of e-culture in landscape :

Research, presentation (exhibitions, monuments, museums), tourism (organising a tour, cultural routes, holidays), documentation, digitisation, preservation

Awareness-raising, training and education, new tools, methods, assessment and quality objectives of heritage

International policies and programmes; trans-boundary landscapes; the future of landscapes
